This chapter covers
searching for information within printed resources that are easily and readily
available. Information within printed resources can be very valuable because of
the depth that they cover. Books and periodicals are valuable because they will
pertain directly to your topic and offer vast information such as case studies
and first hand encounters. Bibliographies are also a valuable tool because they
will list books, articles, and other publications that are relevant and useful
towards your topic. The different types of bibliographies are covered such as
trade, general, and specialized and knowing the difference are important. Indexes are important to use because they can
offer you abstracts to articles that directly to your topic. They offer you a
direct line of information you can skim to evaluate the source and its
worthiness towards your project. One particular
print I will be using probably more than others is government documents, and
government document indexes. These will be especially critical during my source
evaluation as they are verified and accurate documents. Other useful sources
are encyclopedias, handbooks, manuals, almanacs, and atlases. I will be
utilizing all of these sources to build the best research project and paper I
can.
