Chapter 4
This chapter covers a variety of ways to evaluate a
particular source you are considering for your research project. There is a
great difference between reading critically and evaluating a source. The two differ because reading something
critically is digging much deeper into the source and weighing its value and
what information it contains while the evaluation process is simply determining
if the source is credible and meets your needs. When critically reading a
source I will be sure to keep my research question at the front of my mind.
America’s support or non-support of the military. My position on the statement
is America should continually support their military and offer as many services
to them for their sacrifice. I will be using a multitude of evidence and
analysis to generate my argument. Empirical evidence and trend/data analysis
will help me build a strong case for what should be offered in exchange for the
military service. Firsthand accounts from veterans will probably be my best
source as they were on the front lines and now have gone through the transition
back to civilian life. Trends and data will be used to measure cases of
military members becoming depressed, having PTSD, and being jobless after the
military.
